1. Enter keywords to find information related to the desired topic. This search method will identify spaces between words as being an 'and' operation, therefore you can enter a series of terms. 2. Use boolean operators such as AND, OR, NOT to narrow your search. (For example: applet and multimedia). This search interface will also understand operators such as: with, by, +, &, else, without, plus etc., hence you can enter a complete expression such as: java without applet + source. 3. Choose from three different types of search results. This will determine the type of search results page that will be returned by the server. |

• Simple searches will provide you with a list of documents and the relevance ranking of each document through frequency statistics. The results page contains the Title, Size and Frequency for each document. • Expanded searches provide you with a brief sample of the documentÆs content, the actual URL as well as the information found with a simple search. |
